เมื่อวันที่ 1 สิงหาคม 2561 สำนักงานความปลอดภัยด้านอาหารและมาตรฐานของอินเดีย (Food Safety and Standard Authority of India : FSSAI) ประกาศแก้ไขกฎหมายความปลอดภัยด้านอาหารและมาตรฐาน (สารปนเปื้อน สารพิษ และสารตกค้าง) ครั้งที่ 2 ปี 2561 เรื่อง เกณฑ์การยอมรับ (Tolerance Limit) ของยาปฏิชีวนะและยาสัตว์ ซึ่งมีผลบังคับใช้ตั้งแต่วันที่ประกาศใน Official Gazette (ประกาศ ณ วันที่ 1 สิงหาคม 2561) เป็นต้นไป และผู้ประกอบการอาหารจะต้องปฏิบัติตามข้อกำหนดทั้งหมดของข้อบังคับเหล่านี้ภายในวันที่ 1 มกราคม 2562 โดยมีรายละเอียด ดังนี้

1. ห้ามใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะและยาสัตว์ต่อไปนี้ในกระบวนการผลิตเนื้อสัตว์และผลิตภัณฑ์จากเนื้อสัตว์ ไก่ ไข่ และอาหารทะเลรวมถึงกุ้ง ปลาและผลิตภัณฑ์ประมง โดยปริมาณสารตกค้างสูงสุดที่ยอมให้พบได้ไม่เกิน 0.001 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัม ยกเว้น Chloramphinicol ให้พบได้ไม่เกิน 0.0003 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัม (0.3 µg/kg)                                

      1. Nitrofurans including

(i) Furaltadone

(ii) Furazolidone

(iii) Nitrofurnatoin

(iv) Nitrofurazone

       2. Chloramphenicol

       3. Sulphamethoxazole

       4. Aristolochia spp preparations thereof

       5. Chloroform

       6. Chloropromazine

       7. Colchicine

       8. Dapsone

       9. Dimetridazole

      10. Metronidazole

      11. Ronidazole

      12. Ipronidazole and other nitromidazoles

      13. Clenbuterol

      14. Diethylstibestrol

      15. Glycopeptides

      16. Stilbenes and other steroids

      17. Crystal Violet

      18. Malachite Green

      19. Carbadox
