เมื่อวันที่ 22 สิงหาคม 2560 คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรปเห็นชอบให้ต่ออายุการอนุญาตใช้สาร 2,4-DB ซึ่งเป็นสารออกฤทธิ์ในผลิตภัณฑ์อารักขาพืช ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 พฤศจิกายน 2560 – วันที่ 31 ตุลาคม 2575 และให้ยกเลิกการจำกัดการใช้เพียงเป็นยากำจัดวัชพืช

          กฎระเบียบดังกล่าว อยู่ภายใต้ประกาศ Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1491 of 21 August 2017 renewing the approval of the active substance 2,4-DB  in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, and amending the Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 540/2011 ใน EU Official Journal L 216/15 ซึ่งกฎระเบียบดังกล่าวจะมีผลบังคับใช้ 20 วันหลังจากที่ประกาศใน EU Official Journal (ประกาศในวันที่ 22 สิงหาคม 2560) และให้ปรับใช้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 พฤศจิกายน 2560 เป็นต้นไป
