เมื่อวันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน 2560 สำนักงานความปลอดภัยด้านอาหารและมาตรฐานของอินเดีย (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India : FSSAI) ประกาศแก้ไขระเบียบความปลอดภัยด้านอาหารและมาตรฐาน (มาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารและวัตถุเจือปนอาหาร) ครั้งที่ 17 ปี 2560 เรื่อง อนุญาตให้ใช้วัตถุเจือปนอาหารเพิ่มเติม  46 ชนิด ซึ่งมีผลบังคับใช้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 กรกฎาคม 2561 เป็นต้นไป โดยมีรายละเอียด ดังนี้

Sub-regulation 3.2.1 after clause 15

1. Beta-apo-8’-carotenal
2.  Ethylester of Beta-apo-8'-carotenoic acid
